THE WEAVER BROTHERS
At the ages of 23 and 21, Elliot and Zander Weaver received their first international TV Producer/Director credits for their documentary films, and were recognised with a Royal Television Society Award nomination for Best Factual Programming of the Year before the ages of 24 and 26. Having previously worked as freelance cameramen and editors on commercials for companies including Playstation, Bentley, Smirnoff and BMW, the brothers applied their skills to their own independently produced and directed documentary productions. And between 2012-2015 they created nine hours of documentary content focussing on NASA’s Apollo Program, including 13 Factors That Saved Apollo 13 and The Apollo 17 Experience, which were all acquired by international networks such as Discovery US & Europe, PBS, Canal+, Rai and Al Jazeera.
Amidst their documentary work Elliot and Zander Weaver also pursued their true passion; narrative films. Creating four short films with very limited resources including Assault on the Senses and the 16mm, Twilight Zone-esque ghost story, The Mysterious Disappearance of M.M.Bayliss.
In 2015, the brothers diverted their attention from documentaries to produce and direct their debut feature film -- the contemporary sci-fi COSMOS; a ‘no-budget’ undertaking created over 5 years with a crew of 3 and a main cast of 3. The film was subsequently acquired by a leading global indie distribution, received a limited theatrical run in 9 cities across the US and is now available Worldwide on VOD/SVOD platforms, most recently licensing to Hulu in the US.
